"Oh, by the way well, we are both into motorbikes"

GLENFIELD REGISTRY OFFICE
NEMO'S @ STONEY COVE, HINCKLEY
These were the words uttered by Ellie almost as a passing comment during our initial consult. I told Ellie that to someone like me that’s a red rag to a bull and the green light to get creative. I guess most people wouldn’t expect their wedding photographer to react with such excitement. It’s like when Helen told me she was thinking of getting a tank at their wedding. I am not and have never wanted to be a traditional photographer. Let’s get our crazy on and make this day and the photos unique.
So this great day started with hair and make up in Ellie’s incredibly custom-made barbershop. El's Barbershop. We naturally progressed to the bikes pretty sharpish and I’m particularly proud of the shot of Ellie checking her make up in the wing mirror of her bike. Okay so I asked you to re-pose it as I missed you doing it first time round. Does this detract from it? I really don’t care, it happened and it looks great! The unexpected juxtaposition of the mechanics of the bikes against the elegance of both the bride and groom's outfits looked great. I was really pleased that you wanted one of them printed for your barbershop, but come on Ellie, A4 size? I think we should go full on feature wall!
Glenfield Registry Office provided a classic backdrop for a beautiful ceremony but this was the surpassed by the brilliance of Stoney Cove. Despite all of my experience and knowledge as a wedding photographer in Leicester, I don’t really know how to describe Stoney Cove. Just look at the photos and I’m sure you would agree that “we are not in Hinckley any more Toto”
The reception itself was fantastic and so much fun summed up largely by the huge cannon of confetti totally engulfing the bride and groom. Dave‘s reaction to this was priceless. Initial surprise followed by joy followed by annoyance that some stray confetti had landed in his pint. Seriously, look at the photos and look how genuinely inconvenienced he looks!
Weddings like this are such a joy and a privilege to be a part of. Your friends and family were such good fun and despite me being a little intimidated by your biker mates, there is one photo in particular that I hope captures the special relationship you have with this group.
Dave and Ellie, I hope you will treasure these photos and video for a long long time. And Ellie, when you realise that the print in your salon is too small, let me know and I’ll get a giant print done for you. Not that I’m thinking of free advertising or anything!
Congratulations again to you both and thank you for inviting me to be a part of your amazing day.
