"It's not a Tank, it's an Armoured Personnel Carrier"

ST MARY'S CHURCH, BARWELL

If it was possible for a wedding to have a mic drop moment this wedding just did.

"We had a tank." Enough said!

And Keiron, I know it’s not actually a tank, but telling someone I did a wedding with an APC is not nearly as cool, so for pure self-indulgence on my part it’s a bloody tank!

Massive congratulations to you both. Your wedding day was incredibly beautiful and unique with so many great moments for me to capture. St Mary’s Church in Barwell provided the perfect setting for a classic and beautiful start to the day. It rained just enough when you were arriving for me to get a wicked picture of your bridesmaids legging it out of the car under an umbrella. I love that photo. The ceremony was perfect and the rain held off just enough for us to get some shots of you leaving the church. Capturing those hectic and frenzied moments like that are priceless because at the time it probably seems like such a blur for the bride and groom. It’s a huge privilege to freeze those little spontaneous moments and preserve them forever.

The setting that you guys created for your reception was magical and incredibly unique. The tank speaks for itself so let’s park that for a minute (Pun intended)

The amount of organising that must have gone into creating your reception is incredible. The marquees looked impressive by day and truly magical at night.

Your friends and family were incredibly warm and welcoming and made me feel like one of the family. From a photography point of view it actually really helps me to get those intimate, spontaneous little moments. Not to mention the fact that I have a great time too so thank you for that. In a weird kind of way, the most successful wedding shoots are when I’m not actually thinking about taking photos but when I’m there just having fun and I happen to have a camera attached to the end of my arm. This was certainly the case here so again thank you to your crazy friends and family for enabling this. Exhibit 'A' being the photo of the five fully grown adults going down the inflatable slide. You bunch of nutters! I love it!

The speeches were truly heartfelt and something your brother said in his clearly had an impact on you Kieran which I think I managed to capture. The cake looked delicious, the hog roast was delicious (I checked it twice just to make sure) and the delivery of 40 pizzas later on in the evening was a masterstroke. I don’t know where I was when they arrived but I’m gutted I didn’t get a picture of you two standing amongst 40 pizza boxes in some kind of classical high-end Papa Johns advert.

I do owe you both an apology for gassing you out with smoke bombs. As if a tank wasn’t cool enough, when David told me he had five smoke canisters I nearly kissed him because I knew it would look so dramatic. So apologies for choking you half to death... but I don’t really mean it because the photos look so cool and it was worth it.

I truly hope you love looking back on these photos for years to come. Here’s to an amazing wedding day and a lifetime of happiness together.
