This awesome wedding day at Thorpe Gardens had everything
31st July 2022
Thorpe Gardens, Tamworth
Massive congratulations to Bella and Sam.
This was one of the busiest and action packed wedding days ever and I’m so proud to have been a part of it. In fact, Sam and Bella‘s special day pretty much sums up why I love being a wedding photographer as it was truly epic and full on from early morning to late evening. You guys put on one heck of a great day.
A ten bridesmaid hair and make up marathon was a great way to start the day and the salon at Thorpe Gardens was a perfect venue for this. In fact, it’s fair to say that every aspect about Thorpe Gardens as a wedding venue was amazing. The ceremony in the garden room was beautiful and Bella, you and your bridal party looked stunning.
The private walled garden provided an enchanting backdrop for a quintessentially English drinks reception topped with plenty of nibbles and fizzy stuff. And then the yurt itself simply blew my mind. By day it was a rustic, magical, English afternoon tea style venue. And by night the lights come on to transform it into a Glastonbury style party tent. Upon seeing the photos, my nine-year-old daughter even described it as a planetarium. So Sam and Bella, take a bow as you somehow managed to find a venue that is part vintage tea room, part Glastonbury dance tent and part planetarium! If that’s not unique I don’t know what is.
There were so many highlights and memorable moments but here’s some that stick out for me:
- Alicia for flower girl becoming my photography assistant with my spare Nikon. Her enthusiasm and natural talent was amazing but she needs to work on her flattering angles and to not tell the client when she’s taken a dodgy one!
- The absolute elegance and beauty of the bridal party with their subtle mix of pastel shade dresses looked perfect.
- The kids all blowing bubbles down the aisle was such a good idea and really unique.
- Your wedding cake was a work of art but surpassed by possibly the best chocolate brownie I have ever had!
- The father of the bride solo dance was inspired and I hope my photos did it justice.
These are just a few select moments that I hope my photos will provide you with fond memories of. I haven’t even had time to mention the campervan, the smoke bombs or the garden Jenga tower.
This was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of it.
Wishing you both a future full of love and happiness.
Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Hands
