Two hairy creatures in tuxedos – Not the bride !

“You young man are just pure genius” 

I know this is at least be third time I’ve used this quote from Becki, but when someone calls you a “genius “I think you’re allowed to milk it for all it’s worth and run with it.

Every so often in life your path crosses with people who simply get to you, and Becki and Martin are just those people. They are two of the nicest people I have ever met. After meeting them both I knew it was so important to capture their awesome sense of humour in the photos. This crazy pair did not want traditional wedding photos and cheesy smiles.

The ceremony was a small, intimate affair with close family at Hinckley registry office. But the show had already been stolen at this point by Oscar. To look at Martin, you’d safely assume he’d be the hairiest thing in a tux that day. But not only did his tux suit him a treat, Oscar the dog was marginally hairier and a damn site more handsome. Sadly, Oscar passed away a short time after the wedding and I’m just glad to have got a few shots of him to put amongst the many that Becki and Martin already have of him. I only knew him a short time but I know how badly he is missed.

Becki and Martin’s reception was a few weeks later at Ashby Road sports club which was a fantastic event. I look back on these photos myself and am incredibly proud. That’s because I’ve really got to know Becki and Martin quite well since the wedding and I know the photos do capture something about their awesome relationship and sense of humour. They are the most relaxed and fun couple I have ever met and Martin’s laugh especially photographed so well done. In fact, your entire family were so good at winding each other up and knowing what buttons to push to get a reaction from each other. It made my job pretty easy and a whole lot of fun.

A special mention for Milo who at 11 years old made the wedding cake all himself. Apparently there was a bit of a mishap and he didn’t finish until 2 am. Good on you mate! That kind of dedication will get you far. Either that or you’re just terrified of Becki’s wrath if she didn’t have a wedding cake.

Becki and Martin have become genuinely good friends of mine since the wedding, to the extent that my daughter wanted to buy them a holiday present from Spain. Admirable levels of generosity but I was quick to put a stop to! But seriously, they’re printing company Martin’s Printing have printed my T-shirts, my USB gift boxes and Becki even designed my logo.

You guys are both awesome. I loved being a part of your wedding and I’m truly proud of how much you love the photos. Although I am a “genius” so what do you expect!!!
